A master saddler and harness maker by trade I really look forward to helping people to achieve their own goals inside the ‘Hide Out’.

I teach the original handmade craft and although labour intensive, it is very rewarding. We only use the best quality leather to work with, as the longevity of the final goods are directly related to the quality of the raw materials. Well made leather goods last a long time, sometimes even for generations, if you look after them properly.

Anything you make, from a simple keyring to a dog collar and lead, a belt, a leather pouch to protect your beloved laptop or a bridle you make for your own horse, the achievement is second to none and a worthwhile labour of love.

Half day – Make your own personalised leather belt £65
Half day – I am curious about leatherwork, what’s involved? £65
Content: Different leather types, how to use a leather cutting knife, edge staining, finishing and more. Make your very own personalised bookmark.

Full day - Introduction to leatherwork course £115
Content: Different uses for different leather, different tools, how to use and when, introduction to 2 needle double handed stitching, staining, finishing and more by making your very own small personalised leather project. Please note: this course focuses on technique rather than the production or finalising of specific items.

Full day - Saddlery Project Course
Pre-requisite: Introduction to leatherwork course
Choose from making your own dog lead, dog collar or belt with hand stitched buckle return, or maybe you would like to make your own personalised cover for a laptop and/or tablet?

Time table:

Half Day Courses 10am – 1pm incl. tea/coffee breaks
Full Day Courses 10am – 4pm light lunch provided and tea/coffee breaks
